Tonia Aiken, RN, BSN, JD is CEO and Co-Founder of SafePush, a medical device company that has developed the patented SafePush device which is an innovative tool that solves the IV push problem and makes patient care safer by taking the guesswork out of administering IV push injections at the correct delivery rate. Aiken is a national author and speaker on legal and ethical issues affecting Nursing practice. She is a Past President of The American Association of Nurse Attorneys and the New Orleans District Nurses Association. Prior to her role as CEO, Aiken practiced in the field of medical negligence and represented nurses in licensure and disciplinary matters. Aiken also developed and taught a Legal Nurse Consultant Program nationally for 12 years. She has also served as a contributor of legal content for Taber’s Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary. Aiken has served as a Medical/Legal content consultant for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing and National League for Nursing. She has served as a Nursing Services Organization Advisory Board Member and was on the Board of Directors for the National League for Nursing Foundation.
