INS is proud to recognize one of our members, Matthew (Matt) Ostroff, MSN, APN, VA-BC, who was a recent recipient of the Community Innovation Excellence Award at the 10th annual Dr Martin Luther King, Jr, Service Awards in Paterson, New Jersey. Matt was presented the award on January 17, 2025, by St. Joseph’s Health, in partnership with the St. Joseph’s Health African-American Affinity Group. This award honors “ordinary individuals whose extraordinary acts have made a meaningful impact on the lives of African Americans in Northern New Jersey.”
Loretta Hall, Co-chair of the African American Affinity Group at St. Joseph’s Health and Clinical Research Director, Research Institute of St. Joseph’s Health, commented, “We are excited to present Matthew with the Community Innovation Excellence Award at our 10th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, Award Celebration for: Health Equity; Innovation is the key to advancing health equity, and Matthew is a passionate contributor to these efforts.”

When asked about the award, Matt humbly stated, “I cannot thank you enough for this recognition from all of you. I am lucky that St. Joseph’s has provided a facility for me to grow and develop solutions for patients. Thank you all so much.”
