Responsible To: Membership and INS President

Staff Liaison: INS CEO

Responsibilities

  • Reports directly to the President and completes all assignments and projects as directed by the President.
  • Assumes the duties of the President in the President’s absence or upon the President’s request.
  • Attends all meetings conference calls, and other meetings as requested by the President.
  • Performs all duties and assignments within the governing policies and organizational structure of INS.
  • Participates in the activities of the BOD and communicates directly with the President of the Board and the CEO to assure that the objectives of the board can be achieved effectively, economically, and in a professional manner.
  • Participates in strategic planning activities.
  • Offers professional presentations at INS sponsored programs and other healthcare organizational meetings at the request of the President and CEO.
  • Is familiar with and possesses knowledge of the governing policies and organizational structure of INS.
  • Answers correspondence as requested by the President or Chief Executive Officer.
  • Works with the INS staff to develop a theme for the Presidential in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepares and delivers a Presidential Address at the Annual Gavel Ceremony. This Presidential Address will be published in the Journal of Infusion Nursing.
  • Works in conjunction with other members of the Board to assist the President in attaining stated organizational goals.

  • Submits minutes of each meeting to the President and Chief Executive Officer within seven days of adjournment of the meeting.
  • Serves on the Executive Compensation Committee. 
  • Performs all duties and assignments within the governing policies and organizational structure of INS.
  • Participates in the activities of the BOD and communicates directly with the President of the Board and the CEO to assure that the objectives of the board can be achieved effectively, economically, and in a professional manner.

  2. Plan, implement and evaluate educational sessions by:
    *Contributing to the development of educational topics, learning objectives and content outline for presentations in a timely manner according to established deadlines.
    *Participating in the identification of speakers and collaborating with speakers for educational activities.
    *Speaker development and review of PowerPoint presentations.
    *Participate in the evaluation of presentations based on established continuing education approval criteria and validate content as current, evidence based

  6. Implements the goals and objectives of the organization relevant to this position in an agreed upon time frame. Presents this information to the

  7. Takes an active role in mentoring and supporting all members of the Board of Directors.
  8. Acts as Board Liaison to the Standards of Practice and Nominations Committees.
  9. Ensures that all reports submitted from assigned committees meet established criteria and deadlines.
